I think my muscles would’ve cramped shut.” Marellus did not reply to this comment since he found it unnecessary and arrogant on the Scout’s behalf but plainly ignored it. Since, back at Marellus’ home-planet, complaining about your own minor pains was unheard of. One was only in need of treatment if those around you noticed that you are not performing at your usual level and you would be tended to or marked for proper treatment, whether you liked it or not. Chapter 2 - Enormous Weight. A few years ago, the Emperor had set out for the distant stars, looking for his lost sons and reuniting all of the earlier colonised planets under one and the same banner. Constantin, however, had always felt that there was something more to it, a second motive. Something that nobody else had noticed in their ferocious leader amongst the Custodian guard. It felt as if he was looking for something specific. He kept comparing lesser developed planets’ collected data with each other, like it was a hobby of his and sometimes, had the Custodes ask those natives certain questions during their reunification efforts upon these planets. The questions seemed completely irrelevant to the crusade and felt more like harmless openers for small-talk. Like: “What is this planet called amoungst you?” or “Who is your best friend and why so?”.
